Mama, I celebrate you today
For me, you went on a 9-month journey;
At the end, a blood-and-water travail
Lo, another flesh and blood came to be:

Nurtured from birth to maturity
With your milk of sweet love
And unparalleled selfless care;
Mama, to me you’re a gem so rare
A vessel specially created by God above
To be the lively human vehicle for my delivery.

Mama, you’re there when I cry
You’re there when I smile
Mama, even when you’re not nearby
You place me under the watch of God on high;

Mama, I celebrate you today.
